The story of Shinncare starts with a Belgian family and their passion for women's well-being.
The origin
The story of Shinncare begins with Dr. Dirk Smet, an experienced gynaecologist who has been dedicated to improving women's well-being for decades. During his practice, he regularly encountered the same intimate complaints, for which no adequate solution was available. This inspired him to develop his own product.
After extensive research and testing, Dr. Smet came up with the solution: the Intimate Oil Spray Comfort.
This innovative product offers an effective treatment for common intimate complaints and is the result of years of expertise and dedication.

The beginnings of shinncare
When small-scale distribution within Dr. Smet's practice proved impossible, he decided to found the Shinncare brand with his son Karl-Filip.
Shinncare was officially launched in 2021. The brand, with its only product at the time, the Intimate Oil Spray Comfort, quickly received positive feedback from users and colleagues alike. In 2022, the range was expanded to include products for pregnancy and post-partum.

The team
In 2023, Aude joined the team as a marketing consultant. Her addition professionalized Shinncare and helped set the strategy for the coming years. In 2024, she became Karl-Filip's business partner to further shape Shinncare's direction together.
With the support of Dr. Elisabeth Smet, family member and also a gynaecologist, and the ongoing commitment of Dr. Dirk Smet, Shinncare remains committed to the everyday care of all women.

Naturally sourced products with respect for people, animals & nature
Shinncare opts for a sustainable business with short supply chains, recyclable packaging materials and formulas with a natural origin. In this way Shinncare tries to contribute to the well-being of people, animals and nature.
Dermatologically & gynecologically researched and developed
Shinncare's products have been extensively tested on human skin and the intimate area. In the process, the products were clinically evaluated for their suitability for humans and their effectiveness in relieving intimate discomfort such as irritation. Shinncare's range was found to be successful in both areas.
Gentle formulas safe for the microflora of vulvar, perineal and overall skin
Shinncare's formulas contain no irritants or harmful substances and do not adversely affect the vulvar, perineal or overall microbiome. All products were extensively tested for various “good” microorganisms found in the vagina and on the vulva and body and found to have no negative impact on their growth. Shinncare respects the specific acidity of the (intimate) skin by working with formulations based on natural oils and adapted formulas.
